Leaving on a Jet plane...

Yup, tomorrow it begins. 6 weeks of good times, good food, good friends and probably a little getting lost thrown in as well. My parents have been here the past few days for graduation (officially an alumni now) which has been wonderful. We've also been packing up the apartment which is quite sad, but oh well. Saying these goodbyes haven't been as difficult as expected because it still feels a bit surreal.
Tomorrow, the girls head to Athens to begin the adventures. We'll be meeting Adam in Turkey in a hot minute and lord knows where all we'll end up! Updates will be forthcoming!

And the winner is.. ME!

Email I woke up to: "Hi Ali, u r greattti got an answer from Henkel, they accepted you. i will send u the Acc Note as soon as possible, and henkel will send u the invitation, u can use it for Visa better than the Acc Note..."

I'M GOING TO TUNISIA FOR A YEAR!!!! It is FINALLY my turn to do a traineeship!! Not only is it a sweet job, with a sweet and socially responsible company, but I get to go to an amazing country, speak French, learn about a totally new culture and work in a position that i'm only slightly qualified for! The job is in business administration and analysis which is what I wanted to try out and I will be working in their 'detergents' sector. Anyone else find it ironic that I've worked at Laundry 101 for 3 years and now i'm working in detergents? Probably the only reason they accepted me! But oh well, I'M GOING TO TUNISIA!!!!

Time is ticking

After tonight's end of the year AIESEC banquet, things started setting in. I'm super glad I went. Although I didn't know some of the newbies, I feel like I finally have some @ closure. Being around my dear friends who are also moving on and realizing how much these people mean to me and have impacted my life, it felt good to be together. The org is in a good place and will do amazing things so saying goodbye is not so difficult.
Also realized that in exactly 2 weeks, Jenna, Katie80 and our friend Kate and I will be boarding a plane for Greece for our 7 week trip. Amazing! So excited and really hope we can find some @ers along the way to visit! That'll be the signal of a new life chapter and another goodbye to my home for the past 4 years, Madison. That certainly makes me sad because I probably won't get a chance to get back here for at least another year. Year long traineeship in Tunisia is in the pipeline for me and I hope it pans out because I really want a totally different experience that challenges me. Fingers crossed!
