A Balance

Bad things right now: In Cape Cod and there is no sun or warm weather. I'm not in Madison and am itching to be there. I have been working almost this entire 'vacation.' I'm not as tan at the end of the summer as I wanted to be. I still have a TON of work left in the next few days.

Good things right now: I SAW LIKE A GAJILLION WHALES YESTERDAY! So effin cool! There we were on this whale watch thing in the cold and rainy weather (inside cabin), but man was it worth it. We saw like 25 different whales feeding, playing, flipping, breaching- you name it! Such incredible and huge creatures!
Also good- spending time with the family. Good food and wine as a result of being with the family. I found the game Apples to Apples- such a great game! Man invented tanning booths- thank goodness for fake and bake. That I've had a few days to get all this gosh darned work done. THAT I'LL BE IN MADISON TOMORROW!!!

Alright, good and bad are even, but life is great.

End of a Chapter

My summer in NYC ended on Saturday with a very touching goodbye from the few remaining soldiers in the office on Friday, a nice dinner at Vong and drinks till the wee hours with the boys. However, the night/morning ended with a fabulous drunk dial from the residents of the barn that made me super excited to get to Madison.
I've officially never been more excited to start school. Great things await and I am just itching to get back to Wisconsin- might be the last time I say that : ) Currently, I'm in Cape Cod with my parents for a 'vacation' which includes cold weather, some rain, me fighting off an illness of some sort, working all day Monday, a whale watch and dune buggy thing tomorrow (parents pretending I'm still a kid) and me visiting tanning beds so I can pretend I got a tan this summer. Although the conditions aren't great, it's still nice to have a few days with the fam before heading off to Madison craziness.
Note- residents of the barn: I expect a cold beer to be awaiting my arrival at 5:30 on Thursday. And anyone wanna pick me up?!

Woohoos

3 days left in NYC (for now) and things are great!
Yeah for me cooking my first steak for people and it being really yummy
Yeah for finally playing poker last night and not getting my ass kicked
Yeah for Jen getting her visa so she can be an American for 6 more years!
Yeah for Tanja always rocking my world
Yeah for finally being on good terms again with the parents
Yeah for fall AIESEC starting and people already getting into gear!

So excited for this senior year and a AIESEC Madison reaching new heights. Great things are going to happen- I can just feel it! Great things being me finally not being president anymore! : )

Greyhound=boo Boston=yeah

Weekend in Boston was fabulous! Great food, a Red Sox game (and yes, we lost), my friend's birthday and lots of laughs. Couldn't have asked for anything better! And a fabulous drunk dial from Austin, Texas.
Except Greyhound blows ass, once again. Rickesh and I had problems with the bus getting to Boston, but leaving was a whole new story. Smoke was literally billowing around the bus right before we even got on the highway. Good news was that Jill and Joe were also on the bus. Other good news is that my parents spoil me so they came and brought us my car and we instead drove down to NYC so we didn't have to wait hours for another crappy bus. I am officially boycotting Greyhound forever!
Oh, and it's my last week in NYC. For now at least. CRAZY!!!

Sheer Excitement

Okay, so I've been totally MIA. But, here's the short of it- SSC was awesome, but took over my life. Big decisions were made both for AIESEC and for me personally. Was in Madison for a day to pack up my apartment and I'm SO excited to get back to Madtown- miss it like whoah.
So Katie80 left NYC today so we had a Happy Hour and dinner celebration last night which resulted in extreme drunkeness and apparently Katie80 was puking all morning leading up to her flight. Talk about air sickness.
But my excitement is because today we head off to Boston. Watch out Boston because me, Rickesh, Jen, Jesse, Jill and Joe are coming in for a weekend of debauchery, Wendy's cooking, a trip to Fenway to watch the Red Sox destroy the lame Yankees and a lot of booze. I'm extremely excited to share my favorite city with some dear friends and it's also my best friend's 21st so I'm thrilled to be able to celebrate with her.
And I'm super excited to move into the Barn. As of now, we have quite a few awesome people who will be crashing in the Barn either for Halloween, the momentous occasion of my 21st birthday and a Surefire Way concert is being planned for Mifflin Block Party. Heart be still- i love visitors!
I move into the barn on the 31st. The boys are already there- Brokebackk even texted me with a lovely "I just peed in your toilet. Got a little on the seat." And I wonder why I've missed him. Buckdaddy (our landlord) even threw a party in Jenna's apartment. Lordy this year is gonna be good.
