D.C. (WI version)

What a wonderful weekend in beautiful Door County, WI! For those not there, sucks for you, and for those that joined me, glad ya came! I must say, it was a bit of a hike though. Friday, I drove to pick up Hind in Milwaukee- somehow got lost getting there because I was on the phone for a conference call. Then back to Madison to pick up Dan, our SN. Then to DOor County- Driving total of 7.5 hours that day. Quite tired when I got there.
Saturday we took Hind for her first time on a lake- did some kayaking and some swimming which was loverly- also played a little Bocce and frisbee. Quite excellent. THen I made dinner for the weary crew while they played cards- it was okay, my pasta dish is usually better, but c'est la vie.
THEN (best part of my day) we went go-carting (holy shit, that's awesome!) and went mini golfing- which was amusing: a few drunkards, trent wading and hitting the ball from the fake blue water falls, then trent getting a hole in one and proceeding to YELL "Fuck you, fuck you, fuck you, fuck you and fuck you" at the top of his lungs as the family nearby looked apalled. Oh, and then he poured beer on the green. HILARIOUS. Then we all went to a fun Mexican bar where I managed to get Wen Lei absolutely wasted while Hind and I sipped on margheritas (virgin for her!)
All in all it was a great time. I'm at work now though and EXHAUSTED!
BUT I leave for NYC on Tuesday at 7 am! I'm so excited- so see a bunch of you then!

Oopps

Okay okay, so I realize that I accidently stole Digity's name by putting it in my title, so i've changed it. It is back to being allll his. SOmetimes I don't think about things too well!
After a lovely lovely visit with Eric over the past 2 days, i'm sitting at work. Listening to a conference call on recruitment and checking out good old nomadlife. I LOVE reading the Salaam trainees' blogs- Mikey Williams: you never cease to amaze me. Not gonna lie, kinda miss ANdy's daily updates, boo.
WE LEAVE FOR DOOR COUNTY TOMORROW~! I'm SOO excited. I'm driving down to Milwaukee to pick up Hind, then we're swinging up to Madison to pick up a few others then driving 4 hours to Door County to stay with Jenna. That'll be 7 hours minimum of driving for me- eww, but it'll be worth it! Kayaking, biking, mini golf, batting cages and all around fun! So exciting. Any of you crazy AIESECers wanna come to any of the events that I sent out on the calendar? Brewers game? Weekend in Chicago? Little camping? Let me know!
I leave on Tuesday at 7 am for a week at Rickesh's apt. in NYC. SO EXCITED! Little conference, little visiting of old friends, boat party and showing Eric around town- he's never been to NYC! So exciting.
Well, hope all you nomads out there are having a great time and once again, sorry Digity for stealing your name!

I'm back!!

YEAH! I FINALLY figured out what was wrong with my blog and now i can use i again!
SOO I'm super pumped- aside from this awful sunburn i have. We have our FIRST trainee in 4 years here and her name is Hind and she's from Morocco! SHE IS AWESOME! We had a great reception week and have been able to see her every weekend in Milwaukee where she is working for the YMCA.
This past Saturday, Sara and I drove down and took Hind to the Lakeside Art Festival. It was a BLAST! I HIGHLY recommend doing stuff like that with trainees. It was great: lots of artists with booths set up, live blues music, right on Lake Michigan and awesome Middle Eastern food. PLUS Sara and I bought art! We felt so grown up!
So unfortunately, we are still waiting for Mohammed to get his visa stuff straightened out so we don't know when he'll be able to join us which is kinda sad.
This weekend, if anyone wants to come!, we're going up to visit the lovely Jenna Volcheff in Door County with Hind. So far I have Sara, Trent and Bruni on board- any others??? It'll be a blast! Bike riding on the island, mini golf, ice cream, bars. All points to FUN! So join us!
AND i'm getting excited to go to NYC next week for the CO3 meeting, Rickesh's bash, 4th of July and Eric's first time in NYC. QUITE exciting.
Well that's all for now. Everyone read Andy's blog- it's hilarious.

Grrrr

HELLO EVERYONE! I have been super MIA from nomadlife because somehow my password mysteriously changed without my knowing so I couldn't get on! So frustrating to say the least because this has been such an exciting time for Madison!
In any case, I will be updating soon when I know that people can read these- I think i effed up setting it up so we'll just see!

Lovely Romulus

Yeah for good meetings. After being in amazing (aka trashy) Romulus since last Thursday morning, I am quite happy to be back in my own bed and not spending a butt load of money on food. However, both conferences WERE AWESOME! The collaboration group spent a ton of time on Thursday and Friday really going through everything and ended up at a great great place with structures and proposals that we were really proud of. As tedious as the whole process is, having the Rae Group force us to slowly and methodically go through everything really helps us come up with the best solutions. Then, everyone else got there and I must admit, I was pretty nervous to start. Just anxious that consensus would be difficult to reach. But, thankfully, i was superly pleasantly surprised! Everyone had awesome input, respected each others' opinions and showed that they were truly listening. I could not be happier about the outcome and all that we accomplished. So AWESOME JOB EVERYONE! Be proud- we're helping AIESEC really move in the right direction! And of course, there was a lot of laughing, good people and booze. SO good to see some of my favorites that I haven't seen in awhile. NOt to mention, the amazing Wheat and Rye. Some good times: losing brain cells, Madison (aka me, Scott and Jim) losing to Michigan (aka Dave, Rickesh and Patrick) in anchorman- that was a lot of beer, Sheila remembering Scott, Diana's balls comment, V-CARD! (definitely a generational term), eating at that awesome Middle Eastern restaurant, hearing bad stories about Dave, seeing Rochelle, and me and everything that happened when I tried to facilitate the first session Sunday morning. Thanks for an awesome time everyone. Great convos, great people and lots of great work! Remember to see Hotel Rwanda (jen and youssef) and I promise i'll see Spanglish.
